Malcolm X

On February 21st, 1965, one of the most influential African-Americans of all time was assassinated in New York City by a rival group of Black Muslims. Malcolm Little served as a minister, religious leader and a huge activist for human rights. After he was arrested and sent to jail at the tender age of 21, he discovered the teachings of Elijah Muhammad and applied it to his life. Once released, he changed his name to Malcolm X to represent his stolen African identity.

X went on to form various organizations including the Organization of Afro-American Unity which fought hard to fight general racism as apposed to solely bashing the white race. Today we remember Malcolm X for everything he has done to shape our current day society and to have fought for what he believes in. May you rest in peace, X.
