Rick Ross

There were 3 major albums that dropped this week in the hip-hop/R&B world – Rick Ross’ Mastermind, Pharrell’s G I R L and Ashanti’s Braveheart. Of course the thing everyone wants to know is how much they’re going to sell, as that’s obviously a huge marker of their current relevance to the game. Find out what the sales forecasts for all 3 numbers are below!

Rick Ross’ Mastermind is expected to debut at number one (knocking Q out of his throne) with between 145k-160k copies. This will make for his fifth number one album (one of his 6 – 2010’s Teflon Don – only got to number 2), though it will debut with less copies sold than 2012′s God Forgives, I Don’t, which sold 218k its first week.

Pharrell’s second solo album, G I R L, is estimated to sell between 85-95k, likely placing him at either 2, 3 or 4 – up against the Frozen soundtrack and ScHoolboy Q’s second week of Oxymoron.

At the bottom of the list (though hopefully still in the top 10), Ashanti’s Braveheart is on pace to move between 18-21k units. This is her first album since 2008′s The Declaration.

What do you think of the numbers? Are you surprised?
