Another unfortunate story of child cruelty. A 18 year old father in California has been charged with child cruelty and aggravated mayhem after biting the nose off of his 1 month old son. The NY Daily News report that the teenager became frustrated after the infant would not stop crying. A demented teen dad bit off the nose of his 1-month-old baby because the infant would not stop crying, police in California’s Bay Area say.
The tiny child’s 17-year-old mother was “hysterical” when she called Fairfield police to report her little boy was bleeding from his nose.
Responding cops found the wailing babe had his nose chewed off and had also suffered a skull fracture and brain hemorrhage.
Joshua Cooper, 18, and the baby’s mother, along with other family members, were home at the time of the alleged abuse.
Joshua Cooper, 18, of Fairfield, Calif., was arrested after cops said he bit off the nose of his tiny tyke on Thursday.
Cops said they later learned Cooper snapped and chomped off the boy’s nose after becoming frustrated with the tyke’s wails of pain.
The baby was taken to the hospital and is currently in stable condition.
The disturbed dad was charged with child cruelty and aggravated mayhem.
Police are still investigating how the infant’s skull was fractured.
