Cops in England closed a main highway to search for a man’s penis after it was chopped off in a gruesome revenge attack and thrown away along the road.
It is thought the 40-year-old victim – known locally as Kelvin “Kelly” Hewitt – had been mutilated in revenge for sleeping with the girlfriend of a member of a traveller family.
Police closed the A66 road in Middlesbrough, northern England, for several hours to try and find the severed penis. It was unclear if they were successful.
Hewitt, a father of at least seven children by three different women, was found in a distressed state with “serious injuries to his groin area”, alongside the highway, reported The Mirror.
He was placed in an induced coma, which he has now come out of, but police were still unable to interview him because of Hewitt being too traumatized by the extent of his injuries and the strong painkillers he had been given.
A family friend told The Mirror: “Kelly’s a good dad and a decent bloke. He’s a hard worker and he loves his kiddies, he is devoted to them. There’s no reason to go after him like this, it’s barbaric.”
One of his daughters wrote on Facebook: ” My dad’s stable now just hoping for a speedy recovery. Love you papa smurf!”
A 22-year-old man was being held by police, reported The Mirror.
