_Jahmir Wallace

We can do anything we set our minds to do. Jahmir Wallace, 10, is pure evidence of that statement. The young New Jersey native was born without arms but he is not letting anything stop him. Jahmir can put on his clothes and feed himself by using his feet. In his fifth grade music class he decided that he wanted to play the trumpet and he surely made that dream come true. Jahmir says, “I like performing because it’s a place where I can show people my skills… I can show people I can do this and no one could stop me…My feet are my hands and my toes are my fingers.” Jahmir uses his right leg for the finger buttons and his left foot to hold instrument. He uses his toes to play “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” and “Jingle Bells.” His music teacher, Desiree Kratzer, says, “He plays just as well as anybody else — sometimes even better… Jahmir’s whole attitude about life and trying things is infectious — he makes you smile.”

The cause is unknown as to why his arms did not develop. His mother was notified of the news that her sons arms were not developed just three days before he was born. Jahmir says, “I never give up on nothing. If I want to do something, I will always try.”

Wow! What an amazing and inspirational story! Check out the video and photos of Jahmir in the gallery!
