Though Papoose is well known through the streets of Brooklyn, it has been a slight struggle for him getting his music played on hip hop radio stations and going above his moderate mainstream success. His last album “The Nacirema Dream” was dropped last March and according to SoundScan, only sold about 17,000 copies. But, his passion for music runs deep because he said,”I’m going to release a body of music every month. I don’t feel like there’s no artist out there doing that”.
It’s great to have that confidence as an artist and Papoose is not lacking none as he says this, “Nobody is better than me, Jay Z nobody… None are more lyrically inclined than me, None of them. I’m, definitely the King of New York. I am the greatest out of New York… When I look in the mirror, I don’t see Jay Z, I see Papoose… More power to him, but he’s not better than me”
