After a handful of media rounds to promote his newest film, “Brick Mansions,” Wu-Tang’s RZA is at it again. This time, he chose to connect directly with the fans via Reddit. Instead of approaching fans as The RZA, he states that he started as a hip-hop artist with a dream — emphasizing his growth within the motion picture industry. However, in addition to that, fans still manage to ask the Wu-Tang founder some great questions like: who’s his favorite producer, did ODB live up to his musical persona, and, even the possibility of a Wu-Tang movie. Check it out after the jump.

Extremely personable, RZA began his worldwide discussion with:

I started off as a hiphop artist with a dream. Later, formed the world-famous Wu-Tang clan. After selling over 20 million records, I began to produce other artists, from BIG to Mary J., to Kanye… In 1999, I scored my first motion picture, Ghost Dog, which led me to become a composer. I later did music for Kill Bill, Blade: Trinity, and Afro Samurai to name a few. Working in film music led to me being discovered by movie executive Harvey Weinstein, who put me in a film named Derailed. That spawned an acting career, of which I have been nurturing for the past 10 years. My latest film, Brick Mansions, comes out this Friday 4/25 and I acted alongside the late, great Paul Walker.

Consider that the shot that let the questions out of the gate. Immediately after, fans hit the Abbott with a ton of questions. Many of them were funny. For example, one asked, “Do I still have to protect ma neck? It’s been like 20 years now, I’m getting tired of doing it.” RZA responded with, “You have to protect ya neck til the day you drop brother. Because if you lose ya neck, that will be the day you drop! You must always protect ya neck at all times.” As far as his favorite producers, he names Pete Rock, Dr. Dre, and Kanye West. And if ODB was really ODB, he says “times ten.”
