Many people remembered the man Darren “King Reese” Tallington on Twitter and Instagram by posting pictures and creating the hashtag “#KingReese” . Also many people created a make shift memorial on Martin Luther King Drive with ballons and comments remembering King Reese.

Passersby shook their heads sadly yesterday morning as they walked past the assemblage of a signed shirt, balloons, posters, candles and empty liquor bottles that were gathered together at 157 Martin Luther King Drive for Darren Talington, also known as “Reese” and “King Reese.”

Two of the posters on MLK Drive were emblazoned with drawings of Talington and the phrases “King Reese,” “Learn 2 Respect the King!” and “Long Live the King!”

A throng of men standing across the street from the memorial said that everyone in the neighborhood knew Talington and that he was known as “the King” because he was “the man.”

Sad,sad story. By him being from my hometown this is really close to home. I never met him, but he was a family member to a close friend of mine. Rest well, King Reese.
