Some people may call this karma, but if these reports are true you don’t want to see anyone suffer from cancer, even if they are a racist, ignorant old man. It was first reported by the New York Post, but sources are confirming Clippers owner Donald Sterling is dealing with prostate cancer. Sterling was banned for life from the NBA and fined $2.5 million by commissioner Adam Silver earlier in the week after racist remarks he made were published by TMZ. Hit the jump to see more about it.

On the same day a committee of NBA owners met to discuss how quickly they can force Sterling to sell the Clippers after he was banned for life, it was revealed he has prostate cancer. Just to show how much class his Clippers players have, they wished him well regarding the illness. “If that is true, my thoughts and prayers are with him,” Blake Griffin said. “Nobody deserves to go through something like that.” Chris Pau called it “truly unfortunate,” while coach Doc Rivers said he didn’t know about it and that he hoped it wasn’t true.
These same players have every reason to hate him for his disrespectful, hurtful comments but they still chose to send their wishes and prayers. Sterling was banned for life but is basically already 80 years old, so unless he has super powers the lifetime ban probably doesn’t have that many years left, but still doesn’t mean we can’t show Sterling how people with class and respect act and wish him well.
