Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman just updated some new information to his website. Sherman just became the highest paid corner in the entire NFL with a new 4 year/$57.4 million dollar contract with $40 million of that guaranteed. Everyone knew this day was coming after his play the past couple season and his rookie contract expiring this season. Seattle wasn’t letting him even think about going anywhere else. Hit the jump.

“The goal has always been to stay in Seattle and continue to play for the Seahawks,” he wrote on his blog. “With this chapter closed, I can continue to focus on what is important — defending our Super Bowl Championship and being the best cornerback in the NFL.

“This is a great moment for my family, foundations and the people who supported me to this point. Hard work and execution got me to this moment, the Seattle Seahawks have backed up that respect with this contract. The terms of my deal are 4 years for a total of $57.4M with $40M guaranteed. There is no other city or team that I would want to play football for.”

Sherman is only 26 and still has plenty of good football left ahead of him. The fifth round pick in the 2011 draft led the NFL with 8 interceptions this season, not too mention countless defended passes. He obviously was a huge factor in the Seahawks making and winning the Super Bowl.
