Despite not having any prior head coaching experience, Steve Kerr is a hot commodity around the NBA.  With the Knicks and Warriors ousting Mike Woodson and Mark Jackson, those are reportedly the two teams Kerr is deciding between.  It’s also reported that Kerr is leaning more towards the Knicks and with his asking price that’s where he’s more likely to get his wish.

Kerr’s agent is Mike Tannenbaum, the former Jets general manager. It is believed Tannenbaum is seeking a five-year deal for Kerr, the same length as Jackson’s.

It is also believed Kerr is seeking a similar financial deal as Mike D’Antoni had when he inked a four-year, $24 million pact with the Knicks in 2008. Jackson and owner James Dolan might have to overpay to get Kerr to move across the country.

Kerr also wants to finish out his TV analyst duties for the NBA playoffs with TNT before taking the job, something the Knicks are reportedly okay with.
