During her testimony in the George Zimmerman murder trial last summer, Rachel Jeantel was ridiculed for her looks as well as her speech of the English language. Well, these days she has something to rub in the faces of the naysayers – A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA! Check down bottom for the details.
After the backlash Jeantel received from her witness statements last year, the Tom Joyner Foundation paid for her to get a psychologist as well as tutors so that she could finish with her education. Its happened!
Trayvon Martin’s mother Sybrina Fulton showed up to the ceremony to support the last person to speak to her son before he was shot and killed by George Zimmerman. “Her coming is like having Trayvon there saying, ‘You did it. You proved people wrong,'” Jeantel said to Yahoo News.
With the heart of a lion, Jeantel pushed on. “I did it,” she said. “The witness who didn’t know how to speak English knows how to speak English through the 12th grade now. I never quit.” Next step – COLLEGE.

What does this say about our schools when somebody from one year ago couldn’t even read or write a letter graduates. If that’s the equivalent if Travon graduating. That’s a joke on all of us. Get outta here with that comparison. Hang that one up. We need to wake up.
