50 Cent On Good Morning America

As the premiere of 50 Cent’s ‘Power’ series gears up to debut June 7th on Starz, the co creator has taken to his latest Rollingstone Interview to lay any rumors and comparisons to rest. Check out what he had to say below.

“People look at Tony Montana, and they think, oh, everybody wants all the stuff he has,” 50 Cent says during an interview with Rolling Stone. “No, there’s an obsession with Scarface because it’s about a guy who came up from the bottom and he made it. He came here and he conquered. That’s the American dream. That’s what Ghost is after. That’s what everybody is after.”

“Hollywood is like fashion: It recycles itself,” 50 Cent says. “No one has remade The Godfather, or King of New York, or New Jack City, because they don’t think they’d be hits now. But on TV, you can do something like The Wire or The Sopranos, and they’re hits. People figured out that TV is where this stuff is happening. Movie stars stopped looking down on TV. So that’s what we’re doing. We’re helping to fill that hole.”

But 50 says there is no chance his series can be compared to any, even Master P’s ‘I Got The Hook-Up’, “Nothing against Master P or anything, but you know…”
