Mental Healthcare conditions inside Los Angeles Jail’s are SO poor that alot of its 19,000 prisoners sleep without even a mattress!! Such cruel and unusual conditions are at effect here that they are violating The U.S Constitution. More then fifteen suicides have taken place in only 25 months at these so called ” mental-health” facilities.
While most jails in the U.S. are generally made for shorter sentences , the California prison system primarily holds long-term sentences. Lately, these jails have underwent investigation because of gross overcrowding and horrible conditions. Rather then rehabilitate prisoners , these county jails have conditions that ENCOURAGE suicide. Inmates are left unsupervised , no regular checks are performed by guards. A report on the disturbing findings even goes on to say that living conditions are so terrible “even depriving some prisoners of a mattress to sleep on.” County sheriffs have released a statement stating they will “continue to work with the Justice Department.” Corrupt system or nah?
