The Miami Heat couldn’t handle the Heat in San Antonio as the Spurs pulled away late for a 10-95 win in game one of the NBA finals. The air conditioning stopped working before the game started and became just as much as part of the story as the game itself did. It was a competitive back & forth game all night until later in the fourth quarter when Lebron started cramping up due to the heat and had to leave the game. That was when the Spurs made their move and put the game out of reach. Hit the jump.

You can stop all the conspiracy theories regarding the AC. It left some fans wondering if the Spurs turned the AC off on purpose, but remember the extra heat inside the building affected both teams. It just so happened it really hit Lebron worse than other guys. He finished with 25 points but was only able to play 33 total minutes with his leg cramping up. “It sucks not being out there for your team, especially at this point in the season,” James said.

“It was tough on both teams,” Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. “They were pretty dead. We tried to get guys in and out. … It was really hot out there.” Pop is 100% right, it was tough on both teams, so that’s not the reason Miami lost. But obviously if Bron was in the game in the fourth quarter like he usually is, the end of the game possibly would of went much different. Everyone is looking forward to a cooler game two.
