Flip Saunders was officially named the new head coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves and he’s already ready to fill out his bench.

According to Marc Stein from ESPN, the Timberwolves are expected to try and hire Chauncey Billups as an assistant coach for Flip Sauders’ new coaching staff in Minnesota.
Billups has been floated around for jobs in the NBA recently, with his name coming up as a possibility for a gig in the Detroit Pistons front office. But what Saunders might be doing here is mentoring Billups for a few years as his assistant before handing the reigns over to him as head coach.
