The country’s Ministry of Communications has blocked access to a number of social media sites on Friday including Facebook, twitter and youtube. According to Mashable an organization called Cyber Arabs located in Lebanon monitors internet freedom and provides cybersecurity training in the middle-East and North Africa confirmed that these forms of social communication were indeed blocked.

People are concerned for the global community. The Kuwait News Agency says the Iraqi Ministry is trying to prevent the militants from using social media to spread propaganda. Pornographic websites are also reportedly blocked as well.
