50 Cent

50 Cent’s new album Animal Ambition debuted at number 4 on the Billboard charts with 47k sold in its first week…a far cry from his last album, 2009’s Before I Self Destruct, which debuted with a 160k start. However, the difference was a huge label behind the latter (Interscope) as he’s now completely independent…and he’s not worried.

In an interview with Hartford’s Hot 93.7, Fif explains why he wasn’t stressed about his album sales. Check out what he had to say below. Do you agree with his logic, or should he actually be nervous?

Jazlana

“I know I can’t actually have the success I’ve had in the past. It’s impossible. [Animal Ambition?] This is the warm up. I put this record out to cut through the cloud of my audiences mind, success. Some people are not conditioned or prepared for success. And it’s an adjustment. If you leave the environment thinking the exact same way you were in the environment chances are you won’t be successful. You have to make some adjustments as you actually go. Inquiring new information. Being exposed to different situations is what allows me to continue to do it, but if you don’t do it you’ll forget about it.”
