Obama’s healthcare reform requires businesses to cover contraceptives under their health insurances policies. However, in a 5-4 decision today the Supreme Court ruled against the law saying that business owner’s rights to their beliefs trumps a woman’s right to full coverage of contraceptives. All five supreme court justices are conservatives and were appointed by Republican presidents. The ruling favors closely held for-profit businesses with at least 50% of stock owned by 5 people or less who have clear religious beliefs.
