Unlike back in the summer of 2010 when Lebron made his famous “decision” he is doing things differently this time. When I say doing things differently that actually means he isn’t doing anything at all. Bron has been sending his agent to do all the work of meeting with potential teams and weeding out the least likely scenarios compared to the realistic ones. If you remember back then, Bron was meeting with teams all over the country in what turned out to be one of the biggest dramas on television which eventually led to him signing with the Heat. This time around it is the Heat that are the frightened team as they sit and watch and can do nothing. According to Bron’s agent the list is down to four other teams that have a legit chance to snatch him away from South Beach.

As Miami looks on with despair, Lebron’s agent Rich Paul, who is based in Cleveland by the way has narrowed down the list of teams to four. The Cavs, Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets & Dallas Mavericks have made the final cut with the Lakers expected to make a late push for his talents as well.

Over the next few days Paul and King James will discuss how those meetings went and then decide if any situation is serious enough to schedule second meetings with an of those teams. Sources said that Suns owner Robert Sarver met with Paul on Wednesday and pitched the idea of luring James from the Miami Heat to the desert by trying to sign Carmelo Anthony or Chris Bosh as well.

It seems as of now the Mavericks and Rockets are long shots to get any more meeting with Lebron and his people which means the Cavs & Suns may of made a very good impression on his agent. James has made it clear via his Twitter feed that he is spending the early days of his free agency on vacation with his family and is scheduled to attend the World Cup final in Brazil on July 13.

The Heat meanwhile are in a bad spot which probably has them feeling like the Cavs did back in 2010. Not only are they powerless as Lebron takes his time and has his agent meet with teams, they don’t even know what kind of team they will have next year as both Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade are currently free agents as well, although is it pretty much a lock that Wade will re-sign. Lebron could still be weeks away from making his decision.
