New York Knicks president Phil Jackson announced they waived veteran forward Lamar Odom.  Looks like this guy just can’t catch a break.

The Knicks signed Odom to a two-year deal in April when there was just one game left in the season.  The second year of his contract was non-guaranteed.  He was reportedly training and trying to get in shape to remain on the team but it did not work out.  “Unfortunately, Lamar was unable to uphold the standards to return as an NBA player.  We found it necessary to free up the roster spot,” Jackson said.

Odom has been trying to get his life together after his estranged wife Khloe Kardashian left him amidst reports of drug and alcohol abuse as well as infidelity.  Khloe has currently moved on with rapper French Montana and Odom is reportedly very much still in love with her.

Hopefully he’s able to turn things around for himself.
