Freddie Prinze Jr. has recently opened up about his “terrible” experience working on “24”, and has criticized actor Kiefer Sutherland and his “unprofessional” behavior that almost made him quit acting. On Monday, Sutherland’s rep responded to the pointed criticism stating it’s the “first time they’ve heard” of his complaints.
The 38-year-old who appeared alongside Sutherland in “24” as Cole Ortiz in 2010, had this to say about his experience.
“I did ’24,’ it was terrible. I hated every moment of it,” Prinze revealed. “Kiefer was the most unprofessional dude in the world. That’s not me talking trash, I’d say it to his face, I think everyone that’s worked with him has said that.”
The experience was so bad, he nearly threw in the towel.
“I just wanted to quit the business after that. So, I just sort of stopped.”
Well, that explains why we haven’t seen Prinze in any new roles lately.
However, Sutherland’s reps can’t say the same for their client.
“Kiefer worked with Freddie Prinze, Jr.more than five years ago, and this is the first he has heard of Freddie‘s grievances,” Sutherland’s rep said Monday afternoon. “Kiefer enjoyed working with Freddie and wishes him the best.”
Let bygones be bygones.

I think Freddie Prinze JR is trying to get his name in the papers
Would many of us notice if he “retired” from acting? LOL
Wait, he’s an actor? I thought he was just a horrible singer who lucked out and married The Slayer.
I think he is telling the truth, however it is kind of silly to play it out in public and a little too late. Face to face in the here and now always works for me.
Actually, I love Freddie Prinze Jr. and I had wondered why he quit acting. I think all you people that are criticizing him are probably just jealous and you have NO idea what you are talking about. He on the other hand HAS actually worked with the person he is talking about; therefore, he has the right to state his opinion on his EXPERIENCE not just his opinions of someone he has NEVER even met before.
And exactly WHO would have suffered if he had quit? Name some of his (Prinze) blockbuster hits? Wing Commander? Scooby Do? C’mon son. You should have hung it up long ago. In fact, you should never have picked it up to begin with. Kiefer has it, you don’t.
I don’t think he is trying to win any publicity at all, and don’t think it is wrong to come out speaking about their acting experiences. I am sure most of you have had bad experiences at work and complained about it to your friends, family etc. He’s a an actor, so that makes it a lot different.
In regards to the whole “complaining to your family and friends about work” stuff – it was one thing if Freddie sat at home with Sarah Michelle and talked this out, or with one of his friends. It’s been five years, and he’s not airing it with friends and family, or even bringing it to the person who made him feel abd in the first place; he’s telling it to the press. That’s not whining about work stuff, that’s publicity. Personally, I think both of them have done some good and some bad movies, but every actor does. If he had a problem he should have said something at the time, not five years later.
He might have as well thrown the towel in. He’s useless as an actor. So, he should really reconsider before talking crap about others. Even if it’s true, he’s own doorstep is full of junk – dude, clean up first.
In Freddie’s defense, he was being interviewed at Comic Con and was asked about his experience working on 24. I think its unfair and also naive to think he’d talk crap about Sutherland as a ploy to get media attention. This is Freddie Prinze Jr, not Kim Kardashian. He’s been off the radar since he started a family.
And for those who are snarky about his acting, his first roles were in low budget indie films like “The House of Yes”.
This sort of stuff happens all the time. Celebrities are asked questions, they provide honest answers, and then the public digest it.
One person mentioned cleaning up his own doorstep. That really shouldn’t be relevant. If I go to McDonalds and have bad service, I shouldn’t have to look to my own life and my own mistakes before going on Facebook and talking about how awful my experience is.
I think FPJ is a little bit of a notorious whiner. Ask @KevinSmith about him….
Freddie Prinze Jr was an actor????
Why anyone puts up with unprofessional crap is beyond me. If someone is acting that way, tell him to grow the fuck up, and if he won’t, walk away.
A guy that whines publicly about his private experience is complaining about someone else being unprofessional. Yeah, OK? The comment by Sutherland’s rep seems to be far more “professional.”
And to Jesse who said “If I go to McDonalds and have bad service, I shouldn’t have to look to my own life and my own mistakes before going on Facebook and talking about how awful my experience is.” I say “REALLY?” You are actually going to go on Facebook to talk about your experience at McDonalds. Wow! Move over Freddie, you got competition in the little boy’s department.
…Except he didn’t quit. He’s been in stuff beyond 24.
