Justice is served for a second time involving the untimely death of young Darius Simmons (13), who was gunned down and murdered by his elderly neighbor, John Henry Spooner (76) in front of his mother. While the shooter Spooner was convicted to life in prison with no chance of parole last month, the family got some additional good news, when a judge ruled in their favor for civil suit against the killer. See how much parents were awarded for the tragic loss of their baby boy inside.

No amount of money could ever compensate for the loss of a loved one, or the pure anguish it must feel to lose a child in such a horrific way; Hopefully the judge’s ruling in the favor of Patrica and Darius Simmons Sr can help them to pick up the pieces of their life and move forward.
