Johnny Manziel has quite a bit of pressure on him.  Not only is he a rookie competing against Brian Hoyer for the starting quarterback position on the Cleveland Browns, he also has a lot of people expecting him to fail as they criticize his party lifestyle.  There are people who think Manziel could and should start week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers but he admits he’s not ready.

“I don’t think I’m ready for Pittsburgh right now,” Manziel told reporters on Saturday. “I’ve only played one game.”

“I don’t want that taken out of context. I can get ready. Right now it’s second week of preseason.”

That doesn’t mean he can’t get ready though — he just thinks he needs more reps in order to prepare for the Steelers (and Dick LeBeau, who is notorious for terrorizing rookie quarterbacks the first time around).

But of course this is the media we’re talking about and the media that’s notoriously criticized the young QB so of course it’ll be twisted as he’s not ready and never will be.

He kinda lost me here though saying, “I don’t think there’s any pressure on me. I’m still learning, I’m still growing. The expectations aren’t thru the roof.”  They sure are through the roof, but whatever helps him relax…
