Pastor Clark

Praising the Lord may gain you favor in heaven, but the Earth aint trying to hear it!

South Carolina pastors better watch their back, because they could be next to get put in jail for trying to praise the Lord too hard and too loud. Neighbors of Pastor Johnnie Clark of Rehoboth United Assemblies Church in Columbia, South Carlina, weren’t pleased with how the house of worship was glorifying the Lord so they called 911!

Pastor Johnnie Clark was found guilty of unlawful sound amplification and sentenced to spend two weeks in jail. SMH

Neighbors have long complained about the loud services, which they stated violated the city’s noise ordinance. BUT the two-year clash and having law enforcement sent to the church over 50 times, finally came to an awful end when Clark was found guilty of unlawful sound amplification.

Harriet Clark shared with WLTX, “I can’t believe it — jail time for serving God. What’s next?” Co-pastor and wife of Johnnie Clark continued, “They are trying to tell us how not to worship. We have church at 7:30, so what does that mean? We only have 30 minutes to worship?”

The report said neighbors complained of hearing musical instruments and equipment late in the evening and early in the morning. Rehoboth United had already paid several fines for the repeated violations, but on top of the income lost – the church will have to go on without their pastor for the next two weeks.
