Seems like domestic violence is becoming a ‘thing’ these days. Popular reggaeton artist, Don Omar was arrested on Wednesday around one in the morning for multiple offenses that goes back to August of this year and continued on into September.

Shortly after his arrest, Omar was charged with domestic violence, abuse, threat of abuse, illegal possession of a firearm and – if that isn’t enough – he also pointed a gun at his ex-girlfriend Rebeca López’s face.

Omar is out on bail, but not before the judge ordered him to an ankle bracelet. Hit the jump for more.

The “Pura Vida” artist’s bail was $600,000, which his attorney called, “excessive” but he paid only $200,000. Attorney Mibari Rivera, presented the charges on the ex-girlfriend’s behalf.

“The charges against Don Omar are grounded on two incidents between August and September of this year,” Rivera told reporters outside of court, according to Primera Hora. “In August he pointed a firearm [at López] and in September there was psychological verbal abuse and via text messaging.”

Don Omar took to Twitter to respond to the incident – in his own way.
