Thicke and Williams have filed new documents in the lawsuit claiming they stole the music from Gaye’s song “Got to Give It Up” for “Blurred Lines”.

In the documents they admit to having repeated notes similar to Gaye’s, however they went on to bring up Ludwig van Beethoven and his masterpiece known as the “5th Symphony”.

They mentioned how Beethoven has done the same in the song, starting with Da-da-da-dumm, stating that it has been done since LIKE FOREVER!

However, at the end of their argument they state that their song is a lot more similar to the song “Working In a Coal Mine” from the 60s.
