Drew Brees is giving up today on a lawsuit against one of his former teammates, Kevin Houser. The two were teammates on the Saints before Houser became a licensed security broker and left the team. The two had become friends and Houser convinced Brees to make an investment into a fake company according to Brees.

Brees had sued former Saints longsnapper Kevin Houser — claiming the guy (who became a licensed security broker) duped him into buying $160k worth of tax credits from a defunct movie studio that turned out to be bogus and worthless.
Houser had fired back — saying he NEVER had a deal to represent Brees in the transaction and says Drew simply made a stupid investment and should just take his loss like a man
Brees is dropping the lawsuit because a settlement was reached, which more than likely means Houser gave up some money. Brees isn’t hurting for the $160K considering his contract and all, but this was about principle to him and it appears in the end he got what he wanted.
