A man by the name of Rafael Lozano, from Houston, Texas, has made it his goal to visit every Starbucks in the world. So far he has spent 17 years visiting 11,733 Starbucks. Read more on the story after the jump!

Lozano, 42, has traveled more than 150,000 miles to visit every Starbucks. The coffee fanatic says, “It’s such a fun project. Even though people think it’s a bit crazy I’m going to carry on. I want to tick them all off the list.” He began his project in 1997 when there were only 1,500 Starbucks in four countries, since then he tries his best to keep up with new store openings. In every shop he buys a drink and takes a picture in front of the Starbucks. He prefers an artisan blend of coffee from independent shops more than Starbucks. He even went on a 25,000-mile round trip to visit 40 stores after he heard they were closing last minute.

Lozano is now 4 per cent short of visiting every Starbucks in the United States and Canada. He states, “It seemed entirely possible and as it meant traveling round the country it became a lot of fun…I became a freelance computer programmer around the same time, and although it wasn’t to pursue the Starbucks mission, it certainly gave me more freedom to carry on with the challenge.”
