IFWT_CARTOON

Cartoons seem to be disappearing from morning time slots. Remember when you were younger and you used to get up early every saturday and sunday just to watch cartoons. Well those years are over! For the first time in 50-plus years, you will not find any animation on broadcast this morning. No more weekend cartoons, but why? What will kids watch then..

The CW was the final station to broadcast Saturday morning animation and it ran its last batch of cartoons last weekend. This week, you’ll instead find “One Magnificent Morning,” a block of live-action educational programming.

Cable, streaming, and the FCC are responsible for this madness. In the 1990s, the FCC enforced a rule requiring broadcast networks to provide a minimum of three hours of “educational” programming every week. But now with streaming and channels like cartoon network and the Disney channel this law no longer applies. Whop whop. What do you guys think, does this generation have it to easy? Are cartoons too accessible? What was your favorite cartoon growing up?
