The home the family once lived in now has to be pumped with poisonous freezing gas after the spiders overran their home in Weldon Spring, Missouri. The spiders known as brown recluse spiders, which are almost half the size of a dollar, fell on the family while they were in the shower.

Workers used nine tarps which measured 15,000 square feet to cover the home while it is being gassed. The workers hope the gas will kill the spiders and their eggs. When the family first moved into the home they noticed the spiders in the blinds, lights, ceilings and fireplaces. A bite from the spider can cause nausea, swelling, pain, itching, organ failure and also death. Brown recluse spiders and black window spiders are the are most dangerous in Missouri. Venom from the brown recluse spider is much stronger than a rattlesnakes, but it may cause less damage because the spider only injects a small amount of venom. The family won a civil lawsuit against the previous owners who didn’t inform them about the spiders.

Scary!
