Yep, thats Erykah Badu busking on the streets of New York City, or as she calls it, the “Street Hustler Experiment.”
Erykah Badu took the streets of Manhattan to sing for some money. Badu admits in the video that, “I haven’t sold a record in a long time, b—h, need some money,” she sang, as New Yorkers breezed past her without dropping any money into the collection hat. “I needs money.”
She attempts to do this anonymously, but she does end up posing for a picture. Four minutes into her experiment, one lady finally puts some change in the singer’s hat!
After a frustrating 5 minutes, the experiment is over. The “Tyrone” singer only made a whopping $3.60!
Her final thoughts on the experiment? “Look at all this money,” she said. “If you got some initiative, you can make money.”
