Now that the Major League Baseball season is over, Alex Rodriguez’s one-year suspension has ended, and he is back on the New York Yankees’ roster, ESPN reports.

Rodriguez is eligible to play after being suspended last year for his involvement in the Biogenesis performance-enhancing drug scandal and his interference with the league’s investigation.

Commissioner Bud Selig handed down a 211-game punishment before an appeal shortened it to 162 games, the longest drug suspension in MLB history.

There has been no official word on A-Rod’s role next season, though manager Joe Girardi has stated his intention to play him at third base, provided Rodriguez is physically able to do so.
