Things couldn’t have gone any worse than they did for Ole Miss during their Saturday night loss to Auburn.  Ole Miss wide receiver Laquon Treadwell suffered a gruesome injury while fighting to cross the goal line for a potential touchdown that would put them ahead.

Instead Treadwell suffered a fractured fibula and dislocated ankle.  He underwent surgery that same night.  As a result, obviously, Treadwell will miss the remainder of the 2014 season, including whatever bowl game in which the Rebels play.

Not only did the Rebels see their star, who led the team with 10 catches for 103 yards and a touchdown, leave the game in pain, but a subsequent review of the play showed that Treadwell fumbled the ball in the end zone with an Auburn player recovering the loose ball.

Auburn won the game 35-31.
