Move over Justin Timberlake and Robin Thicke! It looks like there’s a newcomer making their way into Pop/R&B genre, and it’s Nick Jonas! The former boy bander stopped by BET’s “106 & Park” on Wednesday (November 5) to officially debut the remix to his steamy single “Jealous” with special guest, Tinashe.
Pop heartthrob, Nick Jonas, and “2 On” singer, Tinashe, discussed how their collaboration came about with co-host Ray J and Keshia Chanté. “It’s an amazing song to begin with, so obviously it was one that I wanted to be a part of, so he just reached out to see if I was down to be on the remix and I was like, ‘Absolutely,’” said Tinashe.
“It kinda breathed new life into the song,” added Nick. “The minute I heard she was gonna do it, I was in the car and ’2 On’ came on.”
Jonas’ self-titled album will drop on November 10, and has a lot of R&B influences from everyone from Prince and Stevie Wonder to Frank Ocean and The Weeknd.
“It was a really important thing for me to step into my soul and R&B influences on this record,” he said. “When I was working with my brothers, I didn’t really get to do that as much, but I had the freedom to just go in and create and experiment.”
