The time is coming near – the time for us to get our hands on Kendrick Lamar’s sopohmore album. King Kendrick has transitioned his way through hip hop and left a lasting imprint that says, ‘I am me!’ Not falling into the norm and moving at his own pace has only made the rapper a more idolized figure.

During his latest rounds of media stops, Kendrick goes by DJ Whoo Kid’s The Whoolywood Shuffle and drops some serious lines that will make you think about hip hop and where it’s going.

“The state of hip hop, it’s wild. It’s in a place where creativity it’s at a stagnant point – I feel,” Kendrick tells Whoo Kid. “It looks like we’re just stuck now. They ain’t giving us our respect, because they feel they we ain’t out here representing the foundation of saying what you want to say and how you feel rather than just listening to what the next man say or what’s hot on the radio,” he adds.

Kendrick also talks about the first copy of his album and the lucky 10-year-old that has his hands on it. Check it out down bottom.

“You’re gonna have to go through my little brother,” K. Dot mentions about where that special copy of the album is. “He’s 10 years-old. No, real talk. He has it. He has the album and he told me what he likes.” I jellin’ over a 10-year-old right now.

P.S., Dear Kendrick,

I don’t give a damn about you growing that beard out – I <3 you! The love is real!
