Last night we reported that Griffin was charged with misdemeanor battery in connection to the nightclub incident which occurred back in October. Griffin briefly commented on the incident today during an interview. Hit the jump for details.

Via Fox Sports:

Clippers star Blake Griffin said he’s “confident” in his first comments since a misdemeanor battery charged was filed against him in Las Vegas, stemming from a nightclub incident.
“I’m not really allowed to speak on that,” Griffin said before Thursday’s Clippers practice. “I’m very confident in the situation, so once I can I will.”
Asked if the situation was scary, Griffin said: “I would definitely not say scary. (It’s) more that I feel bad for the fact it’s a distraction. I don’t know how big of a distraction it really is, but that’s what I feel mostly bad about.”
The Clippers (4-3) had their training camp in Las Vegas and then went back to Las Vegas for an exhibition game on Oct. 18 at Mandalay Bay. The incident occurred after that game.
The complaint, made by Daniel Schuman, alleges that Griffin “willfully and unlawfully used force or violence.”

Griffin said this situation hasn’t been a distraction for him.
“It hasn’t really, to be honest,” Griffin said. “My whole focus right now is basketball. I promise you I will answer these questions when I can.”
An arraignment is scheduled for Dec. 8 in Las Vegas.
