Cool C whose government name is Christopher Roney, served 18 years in prison after being convicted of first degree murder in October 1996. The now 44 year old Philadelphia rapper was attempting to rob a PNC bank but it resulted in the death of a cop named Lauretha Vaird. Steady B, also a member of his rap group C.E.B., was his assistant at the time of the crime. He too is serving a life sentence but for second degree murder.

March 9, 2006, was the original scheduled date of his execution which was to be given by lethal injection. The governor of Pennsylvania delayed it to January 8th 2015. For those who forgot, Cool C was known for “The Glamorous Life” and for his Juice Crew diss song.
