With the news that Brady Hoke has been fired, speculation now turns to who will be hired to be the new Michigan head coach.  The most popular names being thrown around for the post are avowed Michigan Men such as San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh and LSU’s Les Miles. But one darkhorse candidate has thrown his name into the ring, and his hiring would certainly shake up the football world.

This would be an earth-shattering hire for a multitude of reasons, one being that there’s no head coach out there — college, NFL, probably even high school — who comes close to matching the flash that former NFL receiver Chad Johnson would bring to the position.

But there’s also the small fact that Johnson has absolutely zero coaching experience. Last we saw him, Johnson was playing for the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL, and had never expressed any interest in being a coach one day.

He himself came to his senses after his initial tweet, offering an alternative option to Michigan.

Still would be controversial, but the risk is much less in this scenario. If Michigan wants to reinvigorate what’s become a stagnant program, it could do a lot worse than “Chad Johnson: wide receivers coach.”
