Via TMZ:

Boxing champ Andre Berto hit the streets of Hollywood this weekend … along with Tyrese … in a protest march in the wake of the Mike Brown and Eric Garner cases.

The group called the demonstration “Blackout Hollywood” and encouraged people to wear black and chant things like, “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” and “I Can’t Breath.”

The group also did a “die in” … where they lay down in the street to protest police killings all over the country.

We spoke with Berto who tells us, “We need as a people to speak out with non-violence and this protest and others I have seen around the country is the right way to do it.”

Berto says he will continue to participate in demonstrations along with his celebrity friends … saying, “Something needs to be done.”
