Andreas Guenther is facing federal charges after he snuck onto a ship with hopes of getting to South Korea.
Andreas Guenther tried to attempt his very own James Bond secret mission in an attempt to hitch a free ride. This past September Guenther rowed himself on an inflatable raft over the port of Oakland to his destination which was a cargo ship named the Cosco Oceania. Andreas was soon founded by workers on the ship and was escorted off of the cargo ship by the Coast Guard. When asked why he was attempting to get on the Freighter Guenther told authorties his passport was expired and could not get a new one. Including that he was trying to hop on board to get a lift to South Korea to see his pregnant wife. Guenther can face up to five years in prison for this stunt which would definitely assure him he wouldn’t see his wife in a while. Wouldn’t it have been easier to stack some cash and order a new passport? Also very curious as to how long this voyage would have been, was he planning on not eating or drinking for said time? Very weird indeed, seems a bit sketchy but people have done far crazier for love.
