The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office has released the autopsy report for Tamir Rice the 12-year-old who was fatally shot by a Cleveland police officer on Nov. 22 today. Find out more inside.
The autopsy of 12 year old Tamir Rice has revealed that Rice (who was fatally shot by a Cleveland police officer on Nov. 22, after the officer mistook Rice’s toy gun for a real one) was 5’7 and 195 pounds at the time of his death. The bullet which killed Rice entered through the left side of his abdomen, and the most important detail is that Rice’s death has been ruled as homicide.
The family of the late Tamir Rice has recently filed a lawsuit against the city of Cleveland, as well asthe two officers involved in the fatal shooting. A 58 page reprt was released a day prior to the shooting showing evidence that the Cleveland Police Department was poorly trained and often resorts to excessive force too often
This coming in light of the recent string of events in this niche, referring to the cases of Eric Garner and Mike Brown. In hope that justice on Rices half will be served.
