Well this damn sure didn’t take long! Now Knicks fans you can relax for a minute, Carmelo is not asking to be traded. But numerous sources close to him are saying he is ready to waive his no-trade clause if Phil Jackson is able to locate a team Melo would be interested in playing for. This news pretty much gives us some insight into Melo’s current mentality after the WORST start in Knicks franchise history!

@IamJoeSports

The Knicks have lost 10 straight games — two shy of a team record — and at 4-20 have the most losses in the NBA, one more than the laughingstock Sixers. I mean it is a no brainer as to why Melo would at least think about a trade possibility, most likely the Bulls, but he should also man up a little more and this shouldn’t even be a story.

Melo knew full well coming into this season, as did Knicks fans with a brain that this season was going to be a rough one, but the future is where the hope was. Just make it through this season was the mentality for many associated with the team but it appears Melo forgot that after signing his name on that roughly $125 million dollar deal. That high dollar amount is what makes a trade hard, but a few teams could make things happen if they knew Melo was really available

Most players never get no-trade clauses in their contracts, but when you have star power like Melo you get special things like that. However with that said, he is looking like a hypocrite somewhat because he chose the money over a real contender, and only HE did that. After re-signing with the Knicks this summer, Anthony said he didn’t want to experience another season like 2013-14, yet this is on pace to be far worse. He has said he will show patience, but indicated it would eventually run thin.

“I’m willing to be patient,” Anthony said Sept. 30. “Now, how long am I willing to be patient? I can’t tell you that. But I’m willing to be patient.” Well apparently being patient only means a few months, even though he knew this season would be a struggle.

“He thought things would be better than this, but he still wants to stick it out for now, ’’ a source said. “He trusts Phil, but I think he’s afraid of Phil.’’
