The NBA fined Los Angeles Clippers forward Matt Barnes $25,000 for kicking a water bottle into the stands and directing profane language at fans during their loss to the Washington Wizards. Barnes says the league took away his kids Christmas money for kicking a paper water cup.
According to Barnes he just kicked the cup, he didn’t hit anybody with the cup and nothing else happened.
The swingman explained why he thinks the league came down so hard on him. According to Barnes he is the NBA bad guy so they’re going to come down hard on him with the fines for anything.
He’s says the league doesn’t know the off the court him, they want him to be the “villain” but that’s not who he is, he’s actually a really nice guy.
Barnes says if he wasn’t fined he would’ve donated the money to charity and helped take care of his family.
Barnes is making more than $3 million this year so while $25,000 is a lot of money I’m sure he still has more than enough to give his kids a great Christmas and take care of his family. He’s probably just pissed that the league fined him AGAIN.
