Serge Ibaka has gotten the name Serge I-blocka for his dominant rim protection but Tuesday night, Rudy Gay got the better of the matchup with this poster dunk.

With less than 15 seconds remaining in the first half, Gay dribbled right down the center of the court as the shot clock wound down. Although Gay was fairly measured in his initial approach, he turned from careful to carefree once he elevated, even though Ibaka helped off his man in an attempt to clog the paint and contest the drive. Gay soared high over the top of Ibaka’s defense, double-clutching to avoid danger before stuffing home a strong two-handed dunk.

The 6-foot-8 Gay has always been known for his athletic ability, stretching all the way to his days at UConn. He participated in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest in 2008, despite being eliminated in the first round. Gay scored a team-high 22 points in a 104-92 loss to the Thunder.

Ibaka currently ranks No. 5 in the NBA with 2.1 blocks per game. His 6-foot-10 height, excellent wingspan and willingness to get dunked on every once in awhile have helped earn him three All Defensive first team selections.

Hey you can’t block em all…

Sidenote: It would’ve been dope if Gay did that dunk on Perkins considering their current feud.
