Kevlaar 7, RIP

Taking a moment as the Hip Hop community and city of Detroit Mourns Rapper Producer Kevlaar 7 who passed away this week from a blood disorder. Respected and saluted, he leaves a catalog of solo and collab work with his brother and Wu-Tang affiliates as well as family and friends who issued an official statement.

Detroit Mourns Rapper Producer Kevlaar 7 aka Kevin Cross age 37, who had done music with one of the newest Wu-Tang Clan affiliates rapper-producer Bronze Nazareth who’s also his brother, Motown’s Black 7 Productions and the Wisemen rap crew. Kevlaar was widely respected in the game and had been touted by some as one of the top hardcore rappers of the last few years. His work includes the albums “Wisemen Approaching” (2007), “Children of a Lesser God” (2010), “Die Ageless” (2012), “Panoramic Reflections” (2013) and more.

As Detroit Mourns Rapper Producer Kevlaar 7 the statement by his family and friends is as follows:

“The Black Day In July Family are still coming to grips with the loss of our brother Kevlaar. For such a scripted/gifted MC/Righteous Mind, there are literally no describable words. He has touched and inspired the lives of many through his music and his voice on world and community events. Many have expressed their condolences and their interest to be of assistance so we will be accepting donations to help out with the costs for services and to assist with his children.
