What should we take from this recent Lil Wayne and Birdman fiasco; Every bond is breakable. Fans were awaiting the release of The Carter V with their hands in laps, but according to Wayne, it’s Birdman’s fault that we don’t have it yet. Not one to disappoint the lovers of his metaphors, Lil Wayne released his Sorry 4 The Wait 2 mixtape. The 17-track project was filed with bars of fire, and some of those flames were spit at Birdman and Cash Money. Now, the label’s leader is feeling “disrespected” because of the shots fired.

Sources tell TMZ that after listening to track like the “CoCo” and “S**t” remix, Birdman feels “disrespected” for two reasons; One being, Wayne is doing his best to get out of a binding contract, and two, he’s putting their longtime relationship on blast. “Our Birdman sources say the mogul won’t budge and will only release the album on his terms. And he will fight Wayne if he sues to get out of his contract,” TMZ adds.
Whoa! It’s getting hot in here! Where will the next turn take these two, I wonder.

Should not the Artist feel disrespected when labels breach agreements? Or maybe this a marketing strategy to increase sales for Carter V, especially in light of the facts that “record sales” are on the decline. Should Wayne proceed to court, then, the public will know the truth. On another note, Wayne SHOULD use this opportunity to invest in his own label instead of continuing with the joint venture of Cash Money. I am sure he can get distribution with Universal and/or Interscope for the Artist that are “directly” signed to YM. He, Wayne: Should have sufficient industry knowledge and allies to run a successful indie label. GO 4 IT WAYNE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Moreover, Cash Money has a history of not releasing Artist material. A recent article was written about 25 Artist signed to Cash Money who’s material was not released for one or more reasons. This shows an inability to properly develop, market and come up with new concepts to build/further those artist brands and/or re-invent newly artist. In return, the artist suffer loss of revenue and fan base, except Bow Wow because he is a natural when it comes to acting. Most often being in a bad relationship saps the energy of creativity. Their alleged beef is not only effecting/affecting them but the Artist and staff as well. Look at it like: “An NBA/NFL player seems to be washed up, then he is traded and performs in the most unbelievable way because he has removed him/her self from the stress that occasioned the trade. LIL WAYNE Should leave and focus on his own label and Artist, otherwise, he will always live in “Baby” shadow without exercising his fullest potential, thus inadvertently holding back his Artist. No one can rightly criticize Wayne for leaving because he did his job as an Artist of Cash Money, which was to sell millions of records to recouped all monies invested in him per the recording contracts.
