Hahahaha, SNL says this is the definitive story on Jay Z, from the selling of ‘product’ on the corner to deciding a rap career to meeting Bey, teaming up with Ye, and squashing beef with Nas, this is the Jay Z Story.
The Jay Z Story, Of course with SNL, it’s def not what one would expect from a ‘100% accurate story’, the names, and places, and story line, yes that seems kosher, but the people portraying, yeah nah. SNL decided to tell the story without color barriers, and HOV is white, but so is Kanye, and Nas…almost like they’re saying any rapper that reaches a certain level might as well be white;
What do you think about this Jay Z Story, is it funny, or are some of you upset about the portrayal of Jay(Kanye, & Nas)
I’m not sure they’re saying that any rapper that reaches a certain level might as well be white… given how the whole video is satirising the inaccuracies displayed in Hollywood biopics, I’d say by having white actors play them, that’s just another way to show how incorrect these films usually are… (which is also backed up by how the clip keeps saying it’s the “definitive 100% real story” etc)
I love what you said and how you said it! I’d love to read more of your thoughts. Brilliantly expressed! Thank you. Namaste.
Before I watched it I was upset because I was like why the heck didn’t they have Jay Pharaoh play Hov but I watched it and I’m remembered SNL is all about Satire at their poking fun at how Hollywood white washes everything, just look at that movie exodus who’s to say over a 100yrs from now a White actor won’t be playing Jay-Z in an actual movie
