Viral Video: Cop Pulls Gun on Snowball Fight or Nah?

At first it was a question of was he just taking his job too* seriously or was this another case of “getting them early” as they say? But now the details of the viral video that surfaced of Cop Pulls Gun on Teens Having a Snowball Fight are being re-examined, namely with the counter-statement by police: “There was no snowball fight.” (Wait, what???)

Cop Pulls Gun on Teens Having a Snowball Fight in a situation that seemingly went real wrong, real fast. Many cited this officer as a part of #TeamTooMuch when a woman released footage of teenagers in New Rochelle suddenly approached by a gun toting policeman and immediately putting their hands in the air.

Though many sources initially cited the random and unnecessary rough nature of the situation, information was later revealed that police were responding to 911 calls and a suspect who had gone running off through the neighborhood.

New Rochelle Deputy Police Commissioner Anthony Murphy told the Daily News, calling the video a piece of “clever mischief.” He said police were responding to a 911 call around 4 p.m. Friday that a teenager standing in a group of six near the Heritage Houses had pulled a gun from his waistband and pointed it at another person. “We dispatched several cars to the area. Police officers got out of their cars and one of the individuals bent down, adjusted something in his waistband and ran,” Murphy said.

In the clip of Cop Pulls Gun on Teens Having a Snowball Fight you hear the arriving officer say “Don’t f*cking move, guys” as he points the gun and–you know the drill–they put their hands up and got on their knees as he conducted a search. A few of the young men had ran and as another officer chased, this cop searched the remaining–enter the who woman caught the footage. You hear her say “they were having a snowball fight, this group of guys was having a snowball fight and now a cop has a gun on them”–but police say different. All in all police did not catch the suspect nor find a gun.

Unlike the result of Cop Pulls Gun on Teens Having a Snowball Fight situation of guns and snowball fights “or nah,” last month saw the arrest of the 22 year old who shot and wounded a 15 year old for throwing snowballs at his car.
