Looks like NBC anchor and Managing Editor of NBC’s nightly news, has decided to step down and remove himself from being on air. According to the journalist, he is stepping down out of respect for an investigation that is currently underway by NBC over an alleged lie he reportedly told?? NBC anchor Brian Williams steps down & takes himself off air? Yes, looks like this is true….fortunately for faithful viewers this is not slated to be a permanent decision, but more so for a couple of days. Turns out that Brian along with NBC have come under fire after Brian reportedly lied about details of a prior incident that happened over 12 years ago while covering a story in Iraq.
TMZ reports….
“Brian Williams says he is taking himself off the nightly news for a short time … while NBC investigates an apparent lie he told about his helicopter being shot at in Iraq.
Williams said in a statement, “In the midst of a career spent covering and consuming news, it has become painfully apparent to me that I am presently too much a part of the news, due to my actions.”
Williams continues, “As Managing Editor of NBC Nightly News, I have decided to take myself off of my daily broadcast for the next several days,” but Williams says he will come back, adding, “Upon my return, I will continue my career-long effort to be worthy of the trust of those who place their trust in us.”
